The Hero’s Journey Metaphor
In my many years as an entrepreneur I have experienced both successes and failures. I have learned to use metaphor to help me gain the distance I need to see both success and failure as a platform for continued growth. The metaphor I find most powerful is that of the hero’s journey. This is the same archetypical, ancient story line made famous by mythologist Joseph Campbell and used to this day by film makers and novelist to tell compelling, inspiring stories. Learn to see your personal and business growth as a mythological journey and you will begin to see each event, good or bad, as an opportunity for courage and growth.
